Mahlatze Vokal, a singer and songwriter and vibrant artist with a passion for music. His a musician of all seasons and has been complemented by his guitar to enhance his overall performance. His versitillity and strong vocal capability began growing at the tender age of 13 and since then he has never looked back. The love for music was inspired by his late father. Born and raised in Limpopo.
Mahlatze’s career started developing with Local performances in his Church, at Community functions, where he bagan to expolre his talent by entering into numerous competitions. The love of performing and increasing demand from public has inspired Mahlatze Vokal to succeed in music as his career and future. His journey towards music prominence was convoluted. He came to Johannesburg to study for a diploma in civil engineering in 2001 but In between this he acted in a musical play in 2002 called “livit up” as a lead character.
He soon swapped the hard hat and boots and ventured out on national TV as a contestant in the 2004 instalment of coca cola pop star reality talent search where his biggest breakthrough came from and he reached the top 20 stage of the S.A. males.
He became the guy with a guitar performing at universities and technikon events. Mahlatze Vokal is not new in the music Industry he is from a group called Muzo and The Muzo Brothers that had 3 members they were signed by Selaelo Selota.
Mahlatze started his solo career at the beginning of 2014 which has made him perform in various Festivals and cooperate events, has appeared on SABC TV morning live performing on seven (7) Microphones first Artist in SA to do that & was been nominated for Best New Comer in 2015. Mahlatze Vokal's music is Afro you can call it Afrosoul, Afrojazz, Afrohouse it’s a mixture of African music elements that can be played in any country as it is accepted already by all nations in South Africa and in Namibia is slightly getting popularity.
He writes his own songs and draws inspiration from life. He fuses Sepedi and English in his lyrics – proof that he is proud of his culture and tradition as an African and his golden voice is sure to capture many music lover’s heart. He is currently promoting his single “Lerato” the heart warming single and busy with Interviews around SA, He will be shooting his Music Video for his single "follow", which is also available on www.waptrendz.com.
